Umair Ahmed is a Lab Instructor in the Department of Computing at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, Islamabad, Pakistan, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from Hamdard University, Islamabad (2024). He has also completed an 8-week Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp at Dice Analytics Institute, Islamabad, and a Generative AI course through the Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence & Computing (PIAIC). With a strong foundation in applied research, Umair served as a Research Assistant at the Communication over Sensors (ComSens) Lab at COMSATS University Islamabad, contributing to cutting-edge deep learning research in medical applications. Additionally, he worked as a Remote Data Scientist at U Tech Innovative Solutions & Consultancy in Hong Kong (February–October 2024), leveraging expertise in data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling to develop bespoke solutions for clients. Umair’s technical proficiencies include Python, deep learning, natural language processing, and Generative AI. His portfolio of projects encompasses advanced applications such as handwritten text recognition, bird species classification, and lung segmentation from X-ray images. For his final year project, Umair designed an AI-based reconfigurable battery system for Smart Electric Vehicles, optimizing battery performance based on road conditions. Driven by innovation, Umair is dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence to solve complex, real-world challenges.
