Accreditation, a process of validation; helps determine maintenance of suitable standards of quality of educational programs being offered at an institution/ university. The accreditation is normally carried out on a Peer Review basis by the respective Accreditation Council. This competent body (respective accreditation council) establishes a Peer Review Board/ Team comprised of faculty members from various accredited colleges & universities that manages the peer review and accreditation process consistent with the policies and procedures established by the accreditation council. This process of evaluation by a Peer Review Board/ Team could either be for the accreditation of a potential new school/ college or for the renewal of previously accredited schools/ colleges.
Why Accreditation by respective Council/ Regulators
Accreditation is important because it helps students determine acceptable institution for enrollment on the basis of its meeting or exceeding minimum standards of quality as almost all employers often require evidence that the prospective applicants have earned degree from an accredited school or program. Accreditation assists institutions in determining acceptability of transfer credits too.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.)
The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program offered at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) through Shifa College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SCPS) has been accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP). The PCP concerning itself with the quality assurance and quality enhancement, looked at curriculum, faculty, assessment system, lab facilities, clinical/ attachment facilities, and overall teaching & learning environment.
