In our Social Sciences and Humanities programs, you will learn to think critically and argue persuasively. About FSSH

The study of human civilization and social relationships are important areas which need a profound understanding and a broader perspective in order to reinforce progress and development of society in the context of ethical and moral values, social network, behavior modifications, discipline in life and promotion of debate and dialogue among individuals on different social issues pertaining to the society needs. The social sciences can unfold debates/dialogues and provide an opportunity in shaping our collective future and can encourage cohesiveness among different sects in our society. It further enhances individual capacities to understand the consequences and application of the innovative technologies of the age which could transform the economy, bring changes in our social fabrics and the ecosphere of work in addition to the constant change in the way individual organize their family lives and leisure time. Currently, the Nano-technology and advances in medical sciences have a significant effect on the way we live. Also in the 21st-century the individuals in society are exposed to a range of ethical, legal and social issues which need an analytical and ameliorative approaches to the emerging matters due to social change. Therefore, the study of social sciences is paramount to integrate different disciplines in a scientific way while using a robust methodology to cover a range of potential research topics and questions in a wide range of underpinning philosophical assumptions about the nature of social reality (ontology), the study of this reality (epistemology) and the designs and methods to study social realities (methodology). Therefore, the social sciences conduct equity oriented studies in health care system and policy research in the form of conceptual/empirical, quantitative or qualitative, descriptive or analytical or mix method. Consequently, social sciences are vital to develop an understanding of interacting with the social world, influencing policies, developing network, increasing government accountability through academic research and dialogue and endorsing consultative culture.

So, social sciences can be defined as the scientific study of human society and social relationships which include the disciplines of sociology, psychology, economics, anthropology, social policy, Law, human geography and political science and can be integrated with the, Islamic studies, business studies, computer science, mathematics and statistics and education and trainings.

The faculty of social sciences has envisaged and establishes of the following disciplines in order to teach or to do research in these subjects in a scientific manner in line with the international standards and best practices relevant to the society needs to meet the demand of the 21st century and challenges ahead.
