Section of Community Medicine arranged a visit for Year II students for Mashal Model School in Nurpur Shahan Islamabad close to Bari Imam shrine on November 13 and 14, 2018. This school is run by an NGO and has a total strength of 970 students placed in four different campuses. These students have been admitted after being rescued from streets.
SCM students were accompanied by Dr Sajida Naseem, Dr Ali Umair and Dr Usman on both days. Students visited 2 different campus in two days and had a memorable time interacting with the disciplined school children. Medical students MBBS recorded BMI of school children and explained them important concepts about growth, development, healthy eating, personal hygiene, hand washing and tooth brushing.
As part of service to the community, medical students also distributed caps, socks and multiple stationery items among school children.
