On March 6, 2024, Shifa College of Medicine Community Medicine department, in collaboration with the CDA, orchestrated its annual tree plantation event. Engaging Year 2 & 3 medical students, the initiative unfolded in the picturesque surroundings of a park in sector I-8/2. The presence of esteemed senior faculty from STMU and SCM added significance to this commendable tradition, which has thrived for the past six years. Prof Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Vice Chancellor STMU and Prof Dr. Mohammed Amir, Principal SCM & Dean FHS were the chief guests.
A total of 63 trees, encompassing diverse species including Ficus, Chinadoll and Sikh Chain, were carefully planted during the event. The enthusiastic participation of students in nurturing these young plants marked a key highlight of the day.

This monitoring seeks to track their growth and observe the transformative impact on the surrounding environment. By taking this proactive approach, the Community Medicine Department underscores its commitment not only to the present act of tree planting but also to the enduring positive effects it can have on the environment.
As the sun set on this auspicious occasion, the collaborative effort of students and faculty under the guidance of Dr. Sajida Naseem, Acting Head Department of Community Medicine Department showcased a shared dedication to environmental well-being and sustainability.
