A batch of MBBS students, Class of 2025, visited the “Care for Special Persons Foundation” (CSPF) in I-8, Islamabad. The centre has 40 students with different abilities and is run by NGO.
The visit was organised by Dr Sajida Naseem and the Department of Community Medicine in the Neurosciences module on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. The medical students were first introduced to the centre, after which they interacted with persons with special abilities in their learning environment.
During these 2.5 hours of visit, the medical students engaged with the persons with special abilities in different activities, including general checkups, colouring/painting, hand painting, games, playdough, and music. In the end, they distributed gifts and snacks to the children.
The persons with special abilities felt inclusive and were delighted by the visit. The medical students were deeply touched by this visit and said it would help them understand and build empathy among themselves.
