DHPE organized a workshop on “How to conduct small group discussions” on Tuesday 20th August 2019. Facilitators of the workshop included Dr Muneeza Aamir Sami and Dr Riffat Shafi and the participants included newly inducted instructors of Shifa College of Medicine. It was an interactive session where a discussion was held on the benefits of having small group sessions and how the tutors can have a positive impact on student learning by having good facilitation skills. There was a role-play in which the participants conducted a mock SGD. It was followed by a feedback session on what went well and what could be improved. In the end commonly encountered problems in SGDs and strategies to manage them were discussed.
