As we celebrate the 76 th Independence Day, a motivational and enthusiastic lecture was scheduled at Shifa College of Medicine as part of the longitudinal theme of Pakistan Studies. This session was organized by Dr Umme Kulsoom Khattak and chaired by Prof Ashraf Hussain. Our brilliant student Kainat Habib from Year 3, hosted the session. It was conducted on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 12:00 pm- 01:30 pm and attended by the faculty and staff of SCM along with the Year 3 students.
Maj Gen Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam delivered the lecture, who has an experience of more than four decades in teaching and research and has been currently appointed as “Advisor Post Graduate Education & Research” at Shifa Tameer e Millat University.
Objectives of the session were that the students understand the basis and historical developments through the creation of Pakistan and know about the sacrifices given by millions of Muslims. Gen Aslam takes pride in sharing the journey through Pakistan’s creation with passion using pictures and videos, restoring the essence of independence. He explained all the details in a very energetic and motivational way and encouraged the youth to be optimistic by showing the current standing of Pakistan in the world. The speech of Quaid-e-Azam was much appreciated and well-received by the students. Closing remarks were given by Prof Ashraf, highlighting the importance of character building for becoming an excellent Pakistani and doing their part optimistically.
The lecture ended with shouting the slogan “PAKISTAN ZINDABAD”.
