As part of the longitudinal theme of Pakistan Studies and Independence Day celebrations at Shifa College of Medicine, a session was organized by Dr. Umme Kulsoom Khattak for the students of Year 3 and faculty of Shifa College of Medicine. Dr. Waqas Rabbani facilitated the session. It was conducted online on Monday,16 August 2021, from 10.30 am -12 pm in the KUB module by Dr Mahwish Niaz.

The session was delivered by “Maj Gen Prof Dr. Muhammad Aslam”. Prof Aslam has a vast experience of more than four decades in teaching and research and has been currently appointed as “Advisor Post Graduate Education & Research” at Shifa Tameer e Millat University.

The session’s objective was for the students to understand the basis and historical developments in the creation of Pakistan, along with awareness about the sacrifices given by millions of Muslims. A very enthusiastic lecture was delivered by Gen Aslam, illustrated with pictures and videos, truly restoring the essence of independence. He explained all the details in a very energetic and motivational way and encouraged the youth to be optimistic by showing the current standing of Pakistan in the world. The session was ended with a video of the speech of Quaid e Azam, adding to our faith that, “No power on earth can undo Pakistan”.
