A health promotion activity was carried out among the Class of 2023 in the module of HLS to promote awareness regarding the prevention of Thalassemia at different levels. The session was held on December 16, 2021 through SGD followed by group presentation in LGIS. It was Supervised by Dr. Sajida Naseem and assisted by Community Medicine Department.

The SGD began with the discussion on the epidemiology of thalassemia in Pakistan and the steps taken for its prevention which was followed by counseling of affected individuals and their families. This was followed by slogan making activity in which each group under the guidance of faculty was divided into 2 subgroups. They were provided with stationery for penning their ideas in the most unique and innovative manner. The activity was concluded in lecture hall 3, where all groups presented their slogans.

Students suggested that such activities should be regularly incorporated in the curriculum whereby educational content in disguise of co-curricular activity is effectively conveyed in a healthy environment. Students posters were later displayed outside the Community Medicine Department.
