As part of Independence Day celebrations, Shifa College of Medicine arranged a session under the longitudinal theme of Pakistan Studies for the 3^rd year students and faculty of Shifa College of Medicine. It was organised by Dr Umme Kulsoom Khattak and facilitated by Dr Waqas Rabbani in Dr Mahwish Niaz’s module, KUB, on Monday,15 August 2022, at Shifa College of Medicine.

Maj Gen (r) Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam delivered the session; he has a vast experience of more than four decades in teaching and research and has been appointed as “Advisor Post Graduate Education & Research” at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University.

The session’s objective was to sensitise the students about the basis and historical developments in the creation of Pakistan, along with awareness about the sacrifices of millions of Muslims. Gen Aslam delivered the lecture with pictures and videos, restoring the essence of independence. He explained all the details with true spirit and motivation, encouraging the youth to be optimistic by showing the current standing of Pakistan in the world. The session ended with a recording of the speech by Quaid e Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, adding to our faith that “No power on earth can undo Pakistan.”
