ENHANCING LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL STUDENTS

Educational leadership is a key component in training of the finest healthcare professionals as health care organizations and medical schools need competent and effective leaders to face the challenges of the modern world. Shifa College of Medicine has been implementing various sessions and workshops to develop and enhance the leadership skills of their undergraduate students to prepare them as competent leaders to enhance workplace productivity and improvement in the healthcare delivery system. In this regard on December 20, 2023, Department of Health Professions Education in collaboration with Community Medicine organized a workshop on “Medical Leadership Competency Framework” to promote the idea that medical graduates need to become more actively involved in the planning, delivery and transformation of health services through a shared leadership approach.
