Dialysis Unit SIH attended by year 2 Students

The students of Class of 2025 visited Dialysis Unit in Shifa International Hospital on 16 and 17 May, 2022. The visit was organized by Ms. Sana Mangrio, Department of Community Medicine in Genito Urinary Rerproduction (GUR) module.  

Year 2 students were divided into small groups which were briefed by Head Nurse Mr. Irfan along with other nurses of the unit. They gave insight on the working of the dialysis unit and all the processes involved, including the machinery used. This working was demonstrated on real patients with ongoing dialysis treatment in the unit. The students also got the chance to interact with patients, to hear about their ongoing treatment and their experience of haemodialysis. The students appreciated this informative visit as part of integrated curriculum which will enhance their learning process.
