A pre-conference workshop on “BASIC LAPAROSCOPIC SURGICAL SKILLS” was held at Shifa College of Medicine on December 19, 2021. This workshop was a part of the 18th Biennial International Scientific Society of Obstetricians & Gynecologists of Pakistan (SOGP) SOGP Conference and was conducted by Dr. Nabia Tariq and the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The workshop was attended by twenty participants who were specialists from Rawalpindi / Islamabad, Wah, Peshawar and Rawalakot.

The core topics that were covered in the workshop were a blend of a PowerPoint presentation on the basics of laparoscopy, ergonomic principles and Hands-on sessions on identification/orientation with laparoscopic equipment, the introduction of Veress needle, port entry, ovarian cyst dissection, intracorporeal and extracorporeal knot tying.
