The Class of 2028 visited Mashal Model School on March 25, 2025, as part of the School Health Visit in Gastrointestinal and Nutrition module organised by the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health. Mashal Model School is a non-profit organization that accommodates approximately 500 students at its Nupur Shahan campus. The primary objective of this visit was to deliver health-related talks and conduct nutritional assessments for underprivileged children. The visit was supervised by Dr. Saima Rafi and Ms. Sana Mangrio, along with Dr. Laiba Gull, Dr. Ali Najam, and Dr. Hammad Ur Rehman from the Community Medicine Department. To ensure effective outreach, undergraduate medical students were divided into groups, each visiting different classrooms. The school children actively participated in various activities, including nutritional assessments, health education sessions, and handwashing demonstrations. Medical students measured the children’s height and weight, calculated BMI, and plotted the data on growth charts. Demonstrating their generosity and compassion, the medical students collectively donated Rs. 21,730/- to the school for the children. Their contributions and engagement made the visit a heartwarming and impactful experience.
