Student’s visit (Solidarity among young nations for change SYNCH) to attend National leadership summit August 25, 2022, held in Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore.
The National leadership summit on August 25, 2022, was a complete success, with over 1000 medical students attending the event from various medical colleges all over Pakistan. NLS’22, National Leadership Summit 2022, brought all local cabinets all over Pakistan under one roof of Auditorium Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore. The Summit showed the active participation of all SYNCH members and medical and intellectual professionals across the country.
On the occasion of the National Leadership Summit 2022, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was made between SYNCH Pakistan and the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM).
The representative from SYNCH Pakistan was nominated to be Dr Ali Hassan Malik, and from the Pakistan Society Of Internal Medicine, the duly authorised representative was Prof. Dr Javed Akram. According to MoU, PSIM shall actively participate in rehabilitating refugees by building 500 homes and providing healthcare facilities. SYNCH Pakistan shall motivate its cabinets to participate in flood relief activities initiated by SYNCH and PSIM. SYNCH Pakistan shall set up donation desks in its associated medical colleges for the flood victims and, in association with PSIM, aims to rebuild in terms of Basic Needs, which are Shelter, Life, Health, and Education.
A delegation from SYNCH Shifa college of medicine comprised 13 students who represented Shifa College of Medicine in this forum. Our delegation met the delegates from other colleges, interacted with them, and actively participated in the summit. Students got a much better understanding of society and learned a lot during the summit. All the participants gave positive feedback that it was healthy learning and a great way to boost confidence and morale.
The delegation left at 11:00 pm sharp from the SCM campus on 2nd September 2022, on the transportation arranged and provided by the college administration. The delegation reached Allama Iqbal medical college and became part of the following proceedings till 5 pm. Consent forms were filled out and submitted by all the students. This trip was approved and facilitated by the Dean Faculty of health sciences, Professor Dr Mohammad Amir And Dr Afrose Liaquat, chairperson student liaison committee.
