The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) is a nongovernmental organization representing associations of medical students. It was founded in May 1951 and currently maintains 136 member organizations from 127 countries across six continents. IFMSA is affiliated with the United Nations and WHO and operates as an umbrella organization.
A local council of IFMSA at Shifa College of Medicine was recently established and held its first workshop on Saturday, February 22, 2020 (9:00 am to 4:00 pm) and was attended by faculty and medical students. This workshop was a hands-on activity on SPSS and basics of research methodology which was conducted under the joint effort of Standing Committee on Research Exchanges (SCORE) and the Standing Committee on Medical Education (SCOME). Associate Professor of Pharmacology Dr. Fahad Azam conducted the workshop. The workshop was organized by SCM students Ibrahim Bin Huzaifa, Saad Bin Altaf, Ibad ur Rehman and Hania Ahmer.
