Shifa College of Medicine hosted its 13th Annual Scholars Day, an International Research Competition on September 4, 2024. This was a prestigious event dedicated to celebrating academic excellence and fostering scholarly achievements. The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, President of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) graced the occasion. The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Vice Chancellor STMU, while Prof. Dr. Mohammed Amir, Principal Shifa College of Medicine (SCM) and Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, welcomed the attendees, highlighted the importance of Scholars Day. The closing ceremony featured special guest Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mussadiq Khan, who shared his insights and emphasized the value of collaborative efforts.
The event was organized by the Department of Community Medicine under leadership of Dr. Sajida Naseem. The event showcased 100 research projects from over 34 national and international institutions. These novel projects were presented through oral presentations, physical posters, and online platform. This year marked a significant milestone as Shifa College of Medicine hosted its first-ever International Research Competition, featuring contributions from international participants. Hallmark of the event was the Mentorship Hi-Tea, offering participants an informal setting to connect with esteemed judges and mentors, fostering discussions on research, career development, and potential collaborations. Scholars Day continues to serve as a vital platform for medical professionals passionate about research to exchange ideas, gain inspiration, and forge partnerships, all in the pursuit of academic excellence.
