Shifa College of Medicine proudly hosted a session on Seerat-un-Nabi (P.B.U.H.) in connection with the Holy month of Rabi ul Awal, on September 4th, 2025. Our esteemed guest speaker, Qari Muhammad Javed, is the lead Imam and Khateeb of the Shifa International Hospital (SIH) mosque. He is also a PhD scholar at Islamic University and has keen interest and knowledge regarding different aspects of Seerah. The session was organized by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hussain and facilitated by Dr. Umme Kulsoom Khattak held under the longitudinal theme of Islamiat. The blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awal reminds us of the mercy, guidance and eternal message of peace by our Prophet (P.B.U.H.). This year also marks nearly 1500 years since his birth, a moment that changed the course of humanity forever. Given this context, Mr. Javed delivered a very informative and interactive talk on the life of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.), speaking about him as a statesman and a human-Rahmat ul Alameen. Beyond this, he emphasized using the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) as a role model, and stressed the idea of using his way of living as an ideal to strive towards achieving success in this life and in the hereafter. He also made it a point to make the talk engaging for the medical students, such as by using their examinations as a metaphor for the greater trials and tribulations of life. The talk was concluded with a Q&A session with the students, followed by closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf.
