An educational development seminar titled “Mindful Thinking: Navigating Biases, Assumption and Locus of control” was organized by the Department of Health Professions Education on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at the SCM Campus. The keynote address was delivered by Dr Faiza Kiran, Faculty Development Coordinator and Teaching Assistant for both CHPE & MHPE programs.
The seminar aimed to guide participants in exploring the critical dimensions of mindful thinking, biases, assumptions, and locus of control—concepts essential to fostering professional growth and strengthening the culture of learning in medical education. The event was well attended, with active participation from faculty across both basic and clinical sciences. The seminar concluded with closing remarks by the Dean, Professor Dr. Muhammad Amir. He expressed that by engaging in mindful thinking, educators and learners can critically reflect on their thought processes, challenge unexamined beliefs, and take responsibility for their actions and choices. The session concluded with a Dua led by Dean, Professor Dr. Muhammad Amir.
