A special commemorative session was conducted at Shifa College of Medicine to observe the death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on September 11, 2025. The lecture, titled “Life of Quaid-e-Azam: Struggle for Pakistan,” was delivered by Dr. Farooq Abdullah. The lecture was conducted under the lead of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hussain and organised by Dr. Umme Kulsoom Khattak, as part of the longitudinal theme of Pakistan Studies for the first Year MBBS students.

Dr Abdullah is PhD in Islamic Studies with expertise in the Comparative Study of Religions. His research expertise spans interfaith dialogue, international relations, Pakistan studies, Islamic thought, history, and comparative religions, reflected in more than 22 publications in reputed International Journals

Dr. Abdullah shed light on the remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment of Quaid-e-Azam in the creation of Pakistan. He outlined Jinnah’s early life, political journey and the persistent struggle that culminated in the independence of 1947. He also underscored how Jinnah’s determination and vision galvanized millions to support the cause of a separate homeland. The session provided students with both academic enrichment and an opportunity to reflect on Pakistan’s history, instilling in them a deeper sense of national pride and identity.
