When learning meets investigation — Shifa College of Medicine’s Forensic Museum
turned into a crime scene classroom!
“Forensic Medicine Poster Competition 2025 – 3rd Year MBBS Clerkship Group”
The Department of Forensic Medicine, Shifa College of Medicine (STMU) transformed the
Forensic Museum into an immersive crime scene arena on 27th August 2025, setting the
stage for a unique Poster Competition.
With flickering lights, caution tapes, and a crime-scene corner, the venue carried an aura of
mystery and suspense—perfectly capturing the spirit of Forensic Medicine.
The 3rd Year MBBS clerkship rotation group, divided into five teams, showcased their work
under the theme:
“Unveiling the Truth: Science Behind the Silent Body.”
Poster Topics included:
• Autopsy Procedure
• Early Postmortem Changes
• Late Postmortem Changes
• Postmortem Report Writing & Mortuary Visit
• Firearm Injuries
The two-hour session combined academics with interaction. Beyond posters, participants
experienced a Mystery Room challenge and a Fingerprint Identification task, bringing
forensic investigation to life.

• Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hussain (Chairperson, Basic Health Sciences)
• Dr. Saima Rafi (Community Medicine Department)
• Dr. Neelofar Nasir (Health Education Department)In the closing ceremony, the top three
teams were awarded group vouchers for eateries, while all groups earned free registration for
the upcoming Nationwide Forensic Poster Competition at LNH, Karachi.
Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hussain praised the students’ creativity, scientific curiosity, and
dedication, and acknowledged the commitment of Head of Department, Dr. Sadia Syed, along
with team lead, Dr. Syeda Hina Zehra, and the instructors for their valuable guidance and
support. This activity marks a significant milestone in promoting interactive, student-led
learning in Forensic Medicine and reflects the commitment of STMU to advancing
innovative medical education.
