The Department of Health Professions Education organized an educational development seminar titled “The Wounded Healer Dilemma: Navigating Stress, Empathy, and Self-Care” on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the SCM Campus. The session was facilitated by Dr. Malik Nohman, Associate Consultant and Clinical Manager at the Mental Health Unit of the Shifa University Center for Health.
The seminar aimed at equipping faculty members with an understanding of the common sources of stress within healthcare environments and to introduce evidence-informed strategies for promoting self-care and emotional well-being. Attended by faculty from both basic and clinical sciences, the seminar highlighted the essential role of effective stress management in cultivating resilience and empathy within both academic and professional settings. The event concluded with closing remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who expressed deep appreciation for Dr. Nohman’s valuable insights and contributions. The session concluded with a Dua, signifying the close of a reflective and impactful learning experience.
