Medical education has transformed recently at global as well as national level. Shifa College of Medicine, as a constituent of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University is one of the pioneer institutions in Pakistan engaged in medical education for two decades. We are following an indigenously developed integrated system-based modular curriculum in line with the modern concepts of medical education as well as fulfilling needs of our society and community. The faculty is highly trained and motivated in integrated curricular delivery, both at basic as well as clinical years. We practice spiral based hierarchy in curricular delivery whereby there is horizontal as well as vertical integration of courses and subjects promoting learning with clinical context. While we are committed to make learning mutually conducive to both the students and faculty, we are equally committed to utmost respect of our patients and provide state of the art health services at Shifa International hospital, our teaching hospital. This is 650-bedded tertiary care hospital, recently accredited with JCIA (Joint Commission International), only the second hospital in Pakistan to achieve this honour and recognition. The hospital has robust post-graduate as well as undergraduate training facilities. It has the most number of specialties including Bone marrow, renal, corneal and Liver transplant programs. Students have access to a variety of patients belonging to multiple specialties.

As per our mission statement we would like to educate physicians of future who are humane, altruistic, scholar, collaborator and empathetic to their patients. The students and faculty are trained to be self-directed life-long learners. We focus on research at all levels of students as well as faculty. We are very proud of research activities of our students.  We have many vibrant societies of students taking part in curricular as well as co-curricular activities such as SIST (Shifa Inter-scholastic tournament), SSH (Shifa Serving Humanity), Blood donation society, sports and debating clubs. Our student Alumni is an ever-growing body of Shifa ambassadors all across the globe and continue to excel in various disciplines of medical sciences.

The college is recognized by PMC (Pakistan Medical Commission), WHO (World Health Organization) and FAIMER (Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research). It got its own new campus in 2017 very close to SIH and has got excellent infrastructure for education.
