Educational Development Seminar

An educational development seminar titled “Healing Minds in Medicine: Navigating Perceived Injustice and Promoting Psychological Well-Being” was organized by the Department of Health Professions Education on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the SCM Campus. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Fareed A. Minhas, a renowned psychiatrist and the Founder and Director of the Center for Global Mental Health Pakistan. The seminar aimed to explore prevalent mental health challenges within academic environments and discuss effective strategies for fostering psychological well-being. The event was well attended, with active participation from faculty across both basic and clinical sciences. The seminar concluded with closing remarks by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, who emphasized the increasing prevalence of mental health concerns in medical education. He expressed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote student well-being as a foundation for their professional development. The session concluded with a Dua led by Dean, Professor Dr. Muhammad Amir.
