Introduction

The Department of Shariah and Law (DSL) is a constituent unit of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), a federally chartered university. DSL offers the LL.B. Shariah and Law program, which is approved by the Higher Education Commission, the Pakistan Bar Council, and STMU’s statutory bodies. The program responds to growing demand for trained Shariah and Law graduates, particularly in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and surrounding areas.

DSL was established in 2023. The department aims to educate and train competent law professionals with the knowledge and skills required to serve in diverse legal roles.

A qualified faculty team conducts and supervises teaching, research, and counseling services. Classrooms, a moot room, a computer lab, and a law library are well-equipped to meet instructional and training needs. DSL emphasizes student development for both personal and professional life and plans to further this objective through the establishment of the Shifa Law & Mooting Society to support the co-curricular activities.
