Overview

The Student Affairs Office at STMU Park Road campus is the primary contact for curricular and co-curricular matters. It serves as a liaison among students, faculty, and administration and provides support to promote academic success and student well-being.

Key functions:

  • Provide counseling and guidance through a full-time student affairs adviser who is readily available.
  • Coordinate student societies, co-curricular activities, and capacity-building programs.
  • Manage student discipline and related administrative matters.
  • Enhance student life in and outside the classroom to foster personal growth and resilience.
  • Serve as a central place for students to raise academic, personal, or emotional concerns and receive support or referrals.

Role and approach:

The office creates a supportive environment that helps students manage responsibilities, cope with stress, and develop independence. It supports students from admission through graduation and encourages strong relationships among peers, faculty, administration, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

The Student Affairs Office performs the following functions:

  • Student counseling.
  • Registration of students with relevant professional councils, where applicable.
  • Receipt and processing of student applications for academic and non-academic matters.
  • Handling student complaints.
  • Issuance of certificates.
  • Acting as an information and query centre for students.
  • Liaison with parents and guardians.
  • Facilitating clearance, transcript issuance, and degree distribution for graduates.
  • Managing student fee and installment matters.
  • Determining examination eligibility and related affairs.
  • Processing student refunds.
  • Administering scholarships.
  • Managing financial concessions (for example, sibling discounts or support in the event of the breadwinner’s death).
