Youm e Marka e Haq 2026

The Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq event was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Shifa College of Medicine to commemorate the spirit of patriotism and national unity. The program hosted by Dr. Saima Rafi, Assistant Professor Community Medicine & Public Health (CM&PH), commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Saad Rehan, followed by a welcome address delivered by the Head of the Department of CM&PH, Dr. Ahmed Abdullah. The event was graciously attended by the Vice Chancellor STMU, Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal and Dean FHS/Principal Shifa College of Medicine Prof Dr Mohammed Amir along with other faculty members and Year 1 and 2 MBBS students.

The highlight of the event was an insightful and inspiring talk on the theme “Patriotism through Professionalism” by Dr. Shaheer Ellahi, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator BS Public Health at Health Services Academy. The session emphasized the role of healthcare professionals in serving the nation with integrity, dedication and excellence. The speaker highlighted that patriotism is not limited to words alone but is reflected through sincere professional conduct, ethical practice, compassion toward patients and commitment to improving community health. The event concluded with closing remarks by the Vice Chancellor, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged students and faculty to uphold the values of professionalism and national service in their respective fields. A shield was presented to the guest speaker as a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution.
