The Department of Health Professions Education (DHPE), Shifa College of Medicine, organized two-workshops series on 21st and 27th September 2021 as part of the faculty development program, facilitated by Dr Riffat Shafi, Dr Shazia Irum and Dr Muneeza Aamir Sami. The faculty of Basic Sciences and Clinical Sciences participated in these two workshops, respectively. The title and objectives of the workshops were:
Title: “How to write good quality MCQs”
Objectives:
- Write MCQs that assess high cognitive skills
- Identify item writing flaws
These two hours interactive workshop commenced with a presentation by facilitators followed by hands-on activity by participants. The participants valued the systematic approach to the workshop planning, checklist, and hands-on experience to improve teaching and learning. It was a reinforcement of writing good quality MCQs for the professional development of faculty members. The workshop concluded with remarks by the facilitators.
