10th Annual Scholars Day 2021 through e-presentation

The 10th Annual Students Scholars Day 2021 was held ONLINE through e-presentation at the National level at Shifa College of Medicine on Wednesday August 11, 2021. Fifty-seven undergraduate medical students from Year 1-5 representing ten colleges participated in the event which included: Central Park Medical College, Foundation University Medical College, Rawalpindi Medical University, Fazaia Medical College, Dow Medical College, CMH Medical College Lahore, HBS Medical College, Pak International Medical College Peshawar, Al-Nafees Medical College and Shifa College of Medicine.

The competition was held in 4 sessions according to its theme: Clinical Health Sciences, Psychiatry, Medical Education and Public Health.  It was moderated by Dr. Sajida Naseem Associate Professor and Dr. Saima Rafi from Department of Community Medicine. There were 2 judges per session to mark student presentation.

The event started at 8:30 am in the morning with recitation from Holy Quran by the Dean Health Sciences / Principal SCM Prof Dr. Mohammed Amir. Each presenter was given 3 minutes to present his / her research work followed by Q & A.  The event was attended by faculty and students of different medical colleges.

All the 1st three positions in this competition ended up in a tie. Resultantly there were 6 position holders.   1st position: Muhammad Hamza Ali from SCM and Rameesha Tahir from RMU. 2nd position: Haddaya Umar from RMU and Syed Mehmood Abbass from SCM. 3rd Position: Laiba Maryam from Fazaia Medical College and Tayyaba Idrees from RMU.

VC STMU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan announced the prize money of Rs 10,000 for each of the 1st position holder, Rs. 6,000 for each of the 2nd position holder and Rs. 4,000 for each of the 3rd position holder.

The event concluded with dua by the Dean Health Sciences / Principal SCM Prof Dr. Mohammed Amir at 1:30pm.
