Department of Forensic Medicine

Forensic Medicine is introduced in Year 3 of the MBBS program at Shifa College of Medicine. This speciality provides students with a deep appreciation of how medical knowledge supports the pursuit of justice and ethical practice in society. It encourages them to think critically, act responsibly, and apply scientific principles in real-world medicolegal contexts.

Through interactive discussions, clinical rotations, and visits to medicolegal facilities, students explore how medicine contributes to truth, ethics, and societal well-being. The experience of observing autopsies and examining real evidence cultivates analytical thinking and professional integrity.

The Forensic Museum adds to this immersive learning journey, displaying medicolegal specimens, weapons, and toxicological materials that help students connect visual learning with analytical understanding.
