Dr. Waseem Ahmed is an Assistant Professor, Department of Software Engineering at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University. He is a distinguished technology expert with a PhD in Distributed & Parallel Computing Systems from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Which is Ranked among TOP 30 Universities across the globe. With over 22 years of diverse experience in the technology industry, Dr. Waseem has held a range of critical roles, including Software Engineer, Project Manager, System Analyst, and Director Analysis & Design. His expertise spans system analysis, design, development, and strategic leadership in delivering large-scale enterprise solutions. He has experience of working with Business Process Re-Engineering Team of FBR along with IMF technical team on large scale project of deploying Integrated Tax Management System nationwide.

Career Highlights
He served Federal Board of Revenue nearly 20 years and his last designation was Chief Manager (System Analysis & Design) at PRAL (Pakistan Revenue Automation Pvt. Ltd.), a subsidiary of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He played a pivotal role in the automation of national-level revenue systems, demonstrating technical and managerial excellence. In addition to his experience in the government sector, he has also worked with private and international technology companies, delivering diverse and innovative software solutions.
Achievements & Recognitions
He along with his team got Special Appreciation & Reward from the Member Information Technology, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), for the successful completion of the Wizard-Based Income Tax Return Project in 2018.
He received official letter of Appreciation from Major General Muhammad Awais Dastgir, Director General Military Operations (DG-MO), for the successful completion of the DNFBP System (Designated Non-Financial Banking Professions), which contributed to Pakistan’s removal from the FATF gray list in 2021.
He received a Shield of Recognition from the Chairman FBR for the successful nationwide launch of the Point of Sale (POS) Project in 2022.
