Department of Oral Medicine

Oral medicine is the discipline of dentistry concerned with the diagnosis and management of medical conditions that affect the oral and maxillofacial region such as; oro-facial pain, oral manifestations of systemic diseases, salivary gland disorders, and the management of medically compromised patients with oral health issues by non-surgical management.

The students are required to have a comprehensive understanding of oro-facial diseases and oral manifestations of systemic diseases, and accordingly the investigations required and their non-surgical treatment. They are also required to have knowledge of medical emergencies and their management.

The department of Oral medicine is located at ground floor and equipped with three dental units and facilities that are required to investigate, diagnose and non-surgically manage the diseases of the orofacial region.
