Department of Medicine

The Medicine department aims to make competent medical graduates who embody good medical practice, are lifelong learners, altruistic, empathetic, sensitive, honest, responsible, ethical, and efficient team members. The medicine department has played a principal role in the development and implementation of a system-based integrated curriculum in Shifa College of Medicine.

Our team is involved in all steps of curricular Integration. In junior & senior clerkships, we facilitate our students to acquire fundamental, reinforce and expand their knowledge, and develop personally and professionally. During clerkships students are provided with glimpse of multiple specialties, like Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Radiology, Emergency Medicine and ICU. Our department provides daily services to the poor and needy patients at Shifa Foundation Community Health Center. The Medicine Outdoor Clinic is the most busy clinic of this center. Further more, our team provides medical fitness and health care to students of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University.

The faculty members are regularly involved in inter and intradepartmental meetings for curricular innovation and The Medicine department has published more than ten research articles last year and there are many ongoing projects at the hospital and multicenter levels. Students are encouraged in their research activities. We have many ongoing projects at the hospital and multi center levels.

The department has proved to be a role model since most of our graduate students have opted for Internal Medicine as a career and are serving humanity as medical doctors at both national and international levels progression. The faculty and students’ feedback is used for clerkships improvement.
