ORIC at STMU

The Office of Research, Innovation, & Commercialization (ORIC) at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) is the driving force behind transformative research that addresses Pakistan’s most pressing health, education, and sustainability challenges. Established to elevate STMU into a globally recognized leader, ORIC bridges academia, industry, and policymakers through interdisciplinary, impact-driven initiatives rooted in excellence, innovation, integrity, and nation-building.

Leveraging STMU’s affiliation with Shifa International Hospitals—a JCI-accredited tertiary care leader—ORIC offers end-to-end services: Research Funding Support for securing national and international grants; Collaboration & Networking with global academia and industry; Innovation & Commercialization through IP protection, startups, and technology transfer; Capacity Building via workshops, mentorship, and ethics training; Clinical Trials under GCP and DRAP compliance; and Pre-clinical Services including in vivo, in vitro, in silico, and cell-based assays in state-of-the-art BSL-2 labs.

With a focus on telemedicine, digital rehabilitation, mental health solutions, and medical education, ORIC has enabled over several dozen funded projects, multiple patents, and international funders-backed pilots serving underserved communities. Committed to the Sustainable Development Goals, ORIC empowers faculty and students to translate knowledge into scalable, equitable solutions, positioning STMU among the world’s top-ranked institutions.
