Internal Audit Department - Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University

The Internal Audit Department (IAD) of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University provides independent and objective assurance and advisory services aimed at strengthening institutional governance, accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency. Operating under the University’s approved Internal Audit Charter, the Department undertakes systematic, risk-based audits of financial, operational, and administrative activities to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, regulatory compliance, and the proper utilization and safeguarding of University resources. Through professional audit assessments, evidence-based recommendations, and monitoring of corrective actions, the Department supports continuous institutional improvement and promotes sound financial and administrative practices.

Governance and Reporting Structure

The Internal Audit Department functions under the functional oversight of the Audit Committee, and reports administratively to the Vice Chancellor, in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter approved by the University Senate.

The Department maintains independence from the operational and financial activities subject to audit and performs its responsibilities in accordance with applicable University policies and recognized professional internal auditing standards.
