Department of Biochemistry participation in 49th Annual CardioCon at Serena

Department of Biochemistry, Shifa College of Medicine lead by Dr. Afrose Liaquat, in collaboration with Department of Cardiology, Shifa International Hospital, participated in the 49^th Annual CardioCon, 22^nd – 24^th November, 2019 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. Dr. Afrose Liaquat presented a comprehensive talk on “Primary/secondary prevention and the concept of Cardiometabolic Center: A local Experience”. 

A total of 17 abstracts were submitted in the conference, two abstracts were short listed for final evaluation of cardiology research award. The study titled “Expression analysis of miRNA-143 and its target genes in obese population of Pakistan” won third position among 80 abstracts in the cardiology research award competition.
