Enhancing Faculty Skills in Multidisciplinary Teaching: Integrating Rehabilitation Medicine

The Department of Health Professions Education organized an educational development seminar titled “An Introduction to EPAs: A Practical Preview” on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the SCM Campus. Dr. Komal Atta, a distinguished Shifa alumna and Director of Medical Education at UMDC, The University of Faisalabad, facilitated the session. The seminar aimed to enhance faculty understanding of Ent rustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in medical education by focusing on:
  • Comprehending the concept and significance of EPAs.
  • Identifying key components of EPAs.
  • Applying EPAs in assessment and supervision.
  • Addressing challenges and exploring solutions for implementing EPAs.
Faculty members from both basic and clinical sciences actively participated in the event. The session highlighted the role of EPAs in bridging the gap between competency frameworks and real-world clinical practice by defining specific, observable, and measurable professional activities. The seminar concluded with closing remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who expressed sincere appreciation for Dr. Komal Atta’s insightful contributions. The event was further honored by the presence of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, who delivered the final remarks and concluded the occasion with a Dua.
