If we look into the education level of physical therapist in Pakistan, it is equal to 17 years of education according to Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the degree title Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) has been approved by HEC. The national uniform curriculum has been approved by HEC in 2009 and got revised in 2016. The DPT program is designed to train the students for prevention, evaluation and treatment of impairments, functional limitations, and disability. This curriculum is sufficiently flexible to accommodate the needs that emphasize on basic and clinical studies. Evidenced based practice and student centered approach are the main focus of curriculum.
Our purpose is to foster the development of critical thinking, problem solving and clinical reasoning skills of students so that they are capable of providing quality care to patients, community and are ready to assume the diverse roles and obligations of a professional physical therapist.
