Vice Chancellor’s Visit to Rabat, Morocco – Participation in the 6th Vice Chancellors’ Forum of Universities in the Islamic World

On the esteemed invitation of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Khan, participated in the 6th Vice Chancellors’ Forum of Universities in the Islamic World held in Rabat, Morocco, from June 23 to 24, 2025. The high-level international event was jointly organized by HEC Pakistan and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in collaboration with the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW).

This year’s forum, themed “Reimagining Higher Education in the Islamic World: Innovation, Sustainability, and Global Impact”, brought together more than 300 Vice Chancellors, Rectors, and university leaders from over 40 Islamic countries to engage in strategic dialogues, share transformative ideas, and forge partnerships that promote innovation and resilience in higher education across the Islamic world.

During the two-day core forum sessions, the Vice Chancellor of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University:

  • Actively participated in high-impact panel discussions focusing on sustainable academic ecosystems, digital transformation in education, and cross-border collaboration.
  • Shared Pakistan’s emerging best practices in medical and allied health education, as well as STM University’s unique experience in integrating health sciences with innovation and social impact.
  • Held bilateral meetings with Vice Chancellors and university leaders from Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, and Nigeria, exploring opportunities for student and faculty exchange programs, joint research, and capacity-building initiatives.

The participation of the Vice Chancellor underscores STM University’s growing role in the global academic arena and reflects its commitment to advancing internationalization, innovation, and knowledge-based diplomacy.
