National Health Hackathon Mentorship session

National Health Hackathon and Jazz in collaboration with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination launched an online Hackathon competition to find solutions for the current and future health care crises.

Dr. Usman Hamdani, Director of Global Institute of Human development, Shifa Tameer e Millat University had networked with the NIC team. Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences, STMU, Prof. Dr. Amir, nominated Dr. Umme Kulsoom Khattak, Assistant Professor Community Medicine, Shifa College of Medicine for the mentorship session.

Further coordination was done by the team NIC and a one-hour online session was arranged with the young and talented Noorin Zopah and her team on 19th April 2020. Session was conducted under the presence of a moderator from NIC. “CHAKAU” was an idea that aimed to ensure the wellbeing of Health care providers and other frontline workers.

The idea of the project revolves around collaboration of frontline healthcare professionals with passionate volunteers who want to contribute for the wellbeing of the society. The project identifies such motivated individuals who do not have channels to work for provision of health care but are willing to be trained and have access to internet and smart phones. The focus of the proposed project is especially on those health care workers who are distracted with house hold activities and want reliable and motivated individuals to help them contribute more towards overall wellbeing of the society.

Dr. Umme Kulsoom guided the startup on improving the different elements of their service delivery and discussed the different aspects of their project.
